Jacob Jordan Serna, affectionately known as “JJ,” passed away on April 15, 2026, in Corpus Christi, Texas, at the age of 17. Born on August 22, 2008, in Corpus Christi, Texas, he lived a life marked by love, laughter, dedication, and a spirit that touched everyone who knew him.
JJ was a senior at Carroll High School and was eagerly looking forward to graduation in 2026. He was proud of the future he was building and carried himself with determination and heart. He also worked at Whataburger, where his strong work ethic and dependable nature were evident to those around him. Even while balancing school and work, he remained committed to doing his best and to making the people in his life smile.
Family was at the center of JJ’s world, and he loved his family deeply and unconditionally. He is preceded in death by his mother, Diana Moreno Serna, his uncle, Jose Antonio Serna, and his grandfather, Oscar Moreno. He is survived by his father, Raul Serna, and Teresa Rubalcava, his brothers Landon Donavan, Raul Eduardo, Christian Jared, and Santiago Nicolas, and his sister Regina Julieta. JJ treasured time with his brothers and found joy in the closeness they shared. He especially looked up to his brother Christian and dreamed of following in his footsteps. He also loved helping in dino costumes and twisting his curly hair, small moments that reflected the warmth and playfulness he brought to everyday life.
Those who knew JJ will remember him as loving, kind, and funny. He had a gift for bringing laughter wherever he went, and his presence could brighten even the hardest day. He loved spending time with family and friends, and he made it a priority to show up for the people he cared about. His humor came naturally, and his kindness was genuine. He had a way of making others feel comfortable, valued, and included, and that is a rare gift that will not be forgotten.
JJ also carried big dreams for his future. He was excited about the milestones ahead, including prom and graduation, and he looked forward to all that life still had to offer. He worked two jobs, stayed dedicated to his responsibilities, and still found ways to lift the spirits of those around him. His drive and optimism reflected a young man who understood the value of hard work and the importance of holding onto hope. He faced life with a loving heart and a joyful spirit, and he left behind memories that will continue to bring comfort to those who loved him.
Jacob Jordan Serna will be remembered most for his kind heart, his humor, and the love he showed to everyone he knew. Though his time here was far too short, the impact he made was lasting and profound. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, his friends, and all who were blessed to know him.

Visitation will begin at 4:00pm at Guardian Funeral Home, 5922 Crosstown Corpus Christi, Tx, on Wednesday April 22, 2026, with a Evening Service to begin at 6:00pm. Visitation will continue on Thursday April 23, 2026 at Guardian funeral home at 8:30 a.m. and will depart at 11:00 a.m. to Templo Jerusalem Cuadrangular Pentecostes Church, 2515 Coleman St, Corpus Christi for an 11:30 a.m. Funeral Service. Burial will follow at Rose Hill at 1:00 p.m.

El velorio comenzará a las 4:00 p. m. en Guardian Funeral Home, ubicada en 5922 Crosstown, Corpus Christi, TX, el miércoles 22 de abril de 2026, con un servicio en la capilla que dará inicio a las 6:00 p. m. La visitacion continuará el jueves 23 de abril de 2026 a las 8:30 a. m.en la funeraria de Guardian y la comitiva partirá a las 11:00 a. m. hacia el Templo Jerusalem Cuadrangular Pentecostés Iglesia, en 2515 Coleman St, Corpus Christi, para un Servicio Funeral a las 11:30 a. m.
