Jackie Cothron Hicks, 83, of Ingleside, Texas passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 with family at his bedside. Jackie was born December 3, 1939 in Gonzales, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents Uriah and Pauline and 3 brothers U.E., Benny and Dale.

Jackie and Shirley married on December 16, 1960 in Dallas, Tx.
Jackie is survived by his wife, Shirley Hicks of 62 years; three daughters Sherri Thrash and husband, Jim of Houston, TX, Donna Palomo and husband, Ruben of Allen, TX and Terri Blaze and husband Kevin of Summerville, SC. Six grandchildren, Michael Thrash and wife, Kim of Houston, TX, Sara Carmichael of Houston, TX, Danielle Palomo of Allen, TX, Brooke Palomo of Austin, TX, Allison Palomo of Allen, TX and Madeleine Blaze of Columbia, SC. Six great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Ceballos, Jordan Thrash, Posy Thrash, Avery Carmichael,
Hayley Carmichael and Goldie Thrash.

Jackie graduated from Grand Prairie High School and attended the University of Texas at Arlington. He had a successful career in banking for 38+ years. Jackie loved the community and was a member of the Rotary Club in Texas, Lions Club in Colorado and various church committees in Port Aransas. He was an active man, loved being outdoors and all types of sports. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, camping, snow skiing, ATVing , and anything outdoors including yard work. Jackie had a strong Christian faith and was very involved in the
church even during his retirement years.

Jackie was blessed throughout his retirement. He retired in September 2000 and moved to Bayfield, Colorado for 11 years. After Colorado, he moved to the beach in Port Aransas, TexasThe family requests that donations may be made to Community Presbyterian Church in memory of Jackie Hicks.

The Memorial Service for Jackie Hicks is scheduled for 10:00am on Monday, July 24, 2023 at the Community
Presbyterian Church in the Followship Hall, 113 South Alister St., Port Aransas, TX 78373.
