March 22, 1931 – November 5, 2024
Isabel G. Ornelas at the age of 93, passed away on November 5, 2024, peacefully in her home surrounded by her loved ones.
Isabel was born on March 22, 1931, in Mathis, Texas to Jose and Evarista Gonzales. At the age of fifteen she married her beloved husband, Jose G. Ornelas Jr. and made their home in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Isabel was a loving daughter, mother, adoring grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She was dedicated to her Catholic faith. For many years, she worked as a housekeeper and personal assistant for Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Simon. She was a member of the local Senior Centers. Her hobbies were dancing, sewing, making quilts, cooking, and shopping at her favorite stores (Dillards and Bealls). She loved to listen to Tejano/Mariachi music and watch novelas. She always looked forward to dressing up to attend festivities and social events. Spending time with her family was one of her greatest enjoyments.
Isabel is preceded in death by her husband, Jose G. Ornelas Jr.; her parents, Jose and Evarista Gonzales; her brothers, Reymundo Gonzales, Sipriano Gonzales, Elijio Gonzales; and her grand-daughter Christina P. Gonzales.

She is also survived by seventeen grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give special thanks to Holy Savior Hospice for providing high quality care and to Deacon Benny and Deacon Leal for their spiritual support.
