Ira "Sonny" Eugene Wilson passed away peacefully on August 1, 2021 at the age of 74.
He was born on October 31, 1946 to his parents Lon and Lillian Wilson in Andrews, Texas.
A beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many.

Sonny honorably served his country in the United States Navy. His dedication to service would carry over to his career as a firefighter and safety consultant; all achievements of which he was proud. As a humble man, he never sought recognition from his peers; a quality that would serve him well in life. He taught his sons to be strong, loyal, independent and caring. As a loving husband, Sonny and his devoted wife Candy enjoyed 48 years of marriage, creating countless wonderful memories along the way. In this life Sonny courageously fought many battles. Although our hearts are broken to lose him, our healing is found in the peace of Christ, who restores all things.

He leaves behind to cherish these memories; wife: Candy Wilson; sons: Jason (Elizabeth) Wilson, John Wilson; 1 brother; 4 sisters and a host of other family members whom he loved.

All funeral services will be held on Friday, August 6, 2021 ; the family will begin receiving visitors at 10:30 a.m. in Chapel B at Guardian Funeral Home; with a Chapel Service at 11:30 a.m.
The committal service will follow at 1 p.m. in the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
