Inez Martinez,
Sr.
November 13, 1949 – August 31, 2020
Inez Martinez Sr, age 70, went to be with the Lord on August 31, 2020. He was born on November 13, 1949 to Marcos Martinez and Amparo Flores in Corpus Christi, Texas.
He was employed at Coopers Collision Center. Inez was a beloved husband, father, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend to all who knew him.
Inez loved dancing with his beloved wife Janie and being the life of the party. He loved to travel and spend time with his family and friends. He enjoyed watching all sports especially football, basketball and wrestling. His hobbies were shooting pool, gambling and playing dominos as a past time.
He was a kindhearted person that was always wanting to help with fundraisers and taking charge of BBQ cook outs. Inez had a great sense of humor, loved to make people smile and laugh at all his jokes.
He is preceded in death by his parents Amparo Flores and Marcos Martinez, brothers Raul Pena, Domingo (Sonny) Lozano, Juan Manuel Lozano, sisters Julia Mejia and Lupe Vacezes.
He is survived by his wife Janie Martinez of 49 years and son Inez Martinez Jr. Brothers Gilberto F. Pena (Chelo) from New Mexico. Jimmy Martinez (Lupe), Juan F. Martinez (Sylvia), Billy Martinez, George L. Garza from Kansas, Joe "Tapo" Garza with (Angie), sister Amelia Montelongo from Plano, Texas and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins whom he loved dearly.
Inez will be greatly missed but will remain forever in our hearts and memories.
Public visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, September 09, 2020 at Guardian Funeral Home with a Holy rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm that same evening.
A Chapel service will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, September 10, 2020 at Guardian Funeral Home Chapel. Burial to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family would also like to request that all please wear a mask and remember to social distance.
