Obituary

Ignacio (Nacho) Garcia, a beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away surrounded by his family at his home on August 27, 2024.  He was born on July 25, 1941, in Mission, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tomas and Manuela Garcia, and brother Adan Garcia.  He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary Alice Garcia, daughter Danette Vargas (Javier Granados), son Ronald Garcia, grandsons Devin and Dylan Vargas; sister-in-law Lupe Garcia and brother-in-law Armando Vela (Esther).
After serving his country in the United States Army, he married August 23, 1968, building a beautiful life for his wife and family.  Nacho, lovingly and unconditionally, gave of himself to others.  Primarily with his family, he dedicated his time to coaching his children in various sports and supporting all other activities that would lead to a promising future.
After working 41 years, he retired from Wilson Supply. He remained active with many friends playing as a good golfer, being a member of the Pan American Golf Association as an outstanding member for two years. He was an excellent pool player and bowler.  He enjoyed attending all high school football, basketball, baseball, volleyball, and soccer games.
Nacho had a great love for dancing; he was president of the DeNovo's Boys Club in his younger years and attended Tejano music dances with his wife every chance he got-- even up until a week before his death.
In addition to participating in various activities he was an expert bar-b-que cook, preparing the best brisket known to many.  He was a dedicated parishioner at Most Precious Blood Church and attended Sunday mass faithfully.
