Obituary
On March 23, 2014, just a week after he enjoyed celebrating his 82nd birthday, Hutch Bryan passed away in Corpus Christi, Texas. Hutch was born on March 15, 1932 in Woodsboro, Texas to the late Lewis and Nita Bryan. He grew up in East Texas and graduated from Tyler High School and Texas A&I Kingsville. He served his country in the U.S. Army.
Hutch is survived by his loving wife Sue; his son Hutch Bryan, Jr.(Beth) of San Antonio; daughter Patricia Halliburton (Scott); and son Jayson Peterson. Also surviving are his grandchildren Hutcher and Kate Bryan; Cody Winstead; Taylor Halliburton; Hutch loved his family and delighted in his grandchildren.
Most of Hutch's working life was spent in the real estate profession. He was a people person and was ideally suited for this career. He worked for Cobb, Lundquist & Atnip for many years and specialized in commercial property and farms and ranches. Hutch was actively working until the last few months of his life. Besides his work, Hutch loved playing golf, hunting, watching baseball, his church, and his Thursday Morning Bible Group. He loved a party and could make a celebration of any gathering. Ultimately, he had a positive outlook on life and faced it very optimistically.
The family would like to thank Angel Bright Hospice, and especially the hospice nurses Pam Parker and Carmelita Tischer. They were so special and comforting in "Pop's" final days. Also John Hardie of St. Mark's Episcopal Church has been a source of strength for the family.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 27, at St. Mark's Episcopal Church located at 2727 Airline Road. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Memorial Fund at St. Mark's Episcopal Church.
