Humberto Garcia, 82, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 12, 2026.
Humberto was born in Agujita, Coahuila, Mexico. He studied Metallurgical Engineering in Mexico before moving to Corpus Christi in 1968. He made Corpus Christi his home and spent the rest of his life there.
Humberto was a hardworking and active man. He worked at local Corpus Christi refineries before retiring and later worked as a security guard. He liked to stay busy and was rarely without something to do. He rarely missed his morning and evening walks, a routine he kept throughout his life.
One of Humberto’s biggest passions was soccer. He played throughout his life and continued to follow the sport closely. He enjoyed watching games and talking about soccer, and even in his final days, he was still keeping up with the sport. He especially enjoyed watching the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Humberto enjoyed the things that brought people together. He loved Dancing, Tejano and mariachi music, barbecuing, and having family and friends around. He enjoyed cooking, eating, listening to music, and spending time with family and friends. His home was often a place where family, friends, and neighbors gathered.
Humberto loved his family and was very proud of them. Family was an important part of his life, and he enjoyed having the people he loved close by.
His Christian faith was also important to him. He loved God and carried his faith with him throughout his life.
Humberto was preceded in death by his parents, Elpidio Garcia and Eudelia De Luna.
He is survived by his daughter, Joann Garcia Caddell; son, Humberto Carlos Garcia; granddaughter, Courtney Rosenbaum and her husband, Scott Rosenbaum; granddaughter, Iliana Garcia; great-grandson, Landon Rosenbaum; former wife, Lydia Aguilar Garcia; great-nephew, Lincoln Cantu; sister, Guadalupe Garcia Villarreal; niece, Claudia Villarreal Garcia; niece, Irasema Villarreal Garcia; nephew, Gustavo Villarreal Garcia.
Humberto was a man who enjoyed life and lived it his way. He will be missed by the people who knew him and loved him.
Private funeral services will be held, with a Celebration of Life to commence at a later date.
