Humberto Chapa 81, passed away on April 26, 2018. He was born in Benavides, Texas on September 28, 1936. Humberto was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Crisoforo and Herlinda Chapa and sister Lucila Ramos.
Humberto leaves behind to cherish his memories his wife Jovita Chapa, his sons Bert (Anna) Chapa, Tony (Esmer) Chapa and his daughter Berta ( Guadalupe) Gomez. Six grandchildren, Christopher Chapa, Stephanie Chapa, Louie Gomez, Elizabeth Chapa, Gabby Gomez and Candace Chapa; also 5 brothers and 2 sisters; Vicenter Chapa, Crisoforo Chapa, Rodolfo(Rosa) Chapa, Ruben (Idalia) Chapa, Arnoldo Chapa, Herlinda (Oscar) Sanchez and Francis (Lorenzo) Villarreal.
Humberto served in the US Army and retired from Corpus Christi Army Depot in 1997.
Visitation will begin at 5pm on Sunday, April 29, 2018 at Guardian Funeral Home Chapel with a holy rosary to be recited at 7pm.  Funeral Mass will be held Monday April 30, 2018 at 11:30am at Christ the King Catholic Church.  Burial will follow with Military Honors at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetary 9974 HI 37.  A Reception will follow at the Guardian Hall 5813 Ayers St./Carolyn.
