Obituary

Hortencia S. Molina, lovingly known as Tencha, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2026, at her home in Corpus Christi, Texas, under the care of home hospice. She was 81 years old.

Hortencia was born on April 17, 1944, in Odem, Texas, to Gregorio Sambrano and Estela Romero. She lived in Odem for many years before moving to Corpus Christi after getting married. Throughout her life, she was known for her loving heart, kindness toward others, and the cherished memories she created with her family and friends.

Hortencia dedicated many years of her life to working as a manager for various stores. In her later years, she worked in the hospitality industry, where she continued to share her warmth and caring spirit. She enjoyed playing the piano at her church and was a devoted member of El Buen Pastor United Methodist Church.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her son, Joel Molina; her sister, Noemi Ramos and her partner, John; her nephew, Noe Nino, and his wife, Jessica; and her extended family and loved ones.

Hortencia was preceded in death by her parents, Gregorio Sambrano and Estela Romero, and her husband, Eliu (Leo) Molina.
