Hortencia F. Hernandez, 82, went home to be with the Lord on December 24, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Gonzales, Texas on October 6, 1934 to Cecilio and Maria Ramos- Flores. She was a huge Dallas Cowboys fan and she had a great sense of humor. Hortencia was a member of Our Lady of Pilar Catholic Church, and taught C.C.D. classes to many children. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Luis Hernandez, a son, Charles Louis Hernandez. Hortencia was a loving mother, grandmother, great and great great grandmother. She is survived by her children, Veronica Hernandez, Esther Garcia(Guadalupe), Richard Hernandez(Gracie), of San Antonio, Texas, Patsy M. Vasquez-Contes (Luis), and Manuel Hernandez (Rosemary Alaniz), sixteen grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, sibings, Baldemar Flores,(Beatrice) of San Antonio, Texas, Cecilio Flores, Josie Gomez(Fernando), she was a mother to Juan Carlos Hernandez,(Laura), Stephanie Sipsey (Wilbert) , Nancy Hernandez, Alexis Cortinas and Charles Luis Hernandez. Public visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Guardian funeral home chapel "A" with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that evening. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at Our Lady of Pilar Catholic church, 1101 Bloomington. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Richard Hernandez, Juan Carlos Hernandez, Charles Luis Hernandez, Paul M. Hernandez, Robert Rodriguez and Robert Cristan.
