Hope Candela Havey, 20, of Corpus Christi, Texas, died May 19, 2017 at 3:15 a.m. at Bay Area Hospital, as a result of heart failure. Hope was born August 11, 1996, in Kingsville, Texas, the daughter of Flordeliza and Michael Havey. She went to Bishop High School and graduated from Richard Milburn Academy in 2012.
Hope was an intelligent, bright young lady who loved music and enjoyed sharing this passion with her friends and family. Her lifelong dream was to become a singer and she began embarking on that path by writing and performing her own music. Hope was a beautiful young lady who brought light to everyone she encountered through her charismatic personality.
Hope is survived by her parents, Flordeliza and Michael Havey; her brother, Stephen Woodworth; and her sister, Faith Havey. She also leaves her maternal grandparents, Flordanila and Keith Woodworth of Corpus Christi; and her paternal grandmother, Anke Mendez of Germany. She is also survived by dear, close friends Dana Hill and Justin Ortega of Corpus Christi and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Guardian Funeral Home in Corpus Christi. Public visitation and celebration of her life will be Wednesday, May 24, 2017 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., including a service at 7:00p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donations.
