IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Hilario L.
Ramirez
May 24, 1928 – March 22, 2025
Hilario L. Ramirez, known to his family and friends as Lalo, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2025, at the age of 96, surrounded by his loved ones after a brief illness. Lalo was born on May 25, 1928, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to Valentine and Pilar Ramirez.
At the age of 16, Lalo began his journey with the Merchant Marines, serving aboard the SS Archers Hope Vessel. At 18, he proudly enlisted in the U.S. Navy, where he achieved the rank of Seaman Second Class (CRBT). While stationed at Radio Station Lualua Lei in Aohau, Hawaii, he transmitted orders to submarines. After his military service, Lalo pursued a career as a radio and TV repairman at Mason TV Shop. In his spare time, he enjoyed painting and had a deep passion for astronomy.
Lalo is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elizabeth Flores Ramirez, with whom he shared 63 wonderful years of marriage. He looked forward to their reunion in Heaven. He is survived by his children: daughters Mary Cardona (Orange Grove, TX), Patricia (Olbedo) Trejo, and Norma (Fabian) Longoria; sons Hilario F. (Rosie) Ramirez and Robert F. Ramirez. Lalo was also blessed with 22 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff on the 8th floor of Spohn Shoreline Hospital for their compassionate care. A special thank you is also extended to Angel Bright Hospice, Inc. for their support during this time.
Though we will deeply miss our beloved Dad, we take great pride in the legacy he and our Mom have left behind. A legacy of love, unwavering commitment, and the unbreakable bond of family. You will always be with us, Dad. We love you forever.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
