Herlinda Fernandez passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at the age of 71. She was born to her parents Santana and the late Adela Garcia and was one of 9 children. She was a Moody High school graduate Class of 1972 where she met the love of her life the late Manuel C. Fernandez III. She later had 5 children and 8 grandchildren. She is remembered as being selfless, a good wife, and excellent mother who always had a smile even when times were tough. She loved spending time at the ball park and after school activities with her grandchildren. She also loved to take care of her grandkids, playing with puzzles, playing cards with her family and watching her favorite Hallmark movies.

She is survived by her children, Melissa (Jesse) Cruz, Joanna (Raymond) Acevedo, Debra (Jesse) Esquivel, Angela Fernandez, one son, Manuel (Donna) Fernandez, IV. Grandchildren Jared (Isabella), Katelynn, Jake, Jazmin, RJ, Brooke, Hazley, and Jameson.

Public visitation will begin at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, September 20, 2024 at Guardian funeral home chapel with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 6:30 p.m. followed by shared memories of Herlinda's life. Visitation will continue on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at Guardian funeral home at 9:00 a.m. with a final viewing starting at 11:00 a.m.  at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church on Saratoga Blvd. Funeral Mass that will be Celebrated at 12:30 p.m. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens cemetery at 2:00 p.m.
