Henry M. Garza, age 76, passed away June 16, 2026, at his home in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was born December 11, 1949, in Beeville, Texas, and raised in Three Rivers, Texas. After graduating high school, Henry worked briefly at a Uranium Plant in Ray Point before moving to Corpus Christi; shortly thereafter he began a 37year career with CP&L (later AEP), where he proudly dedicated much of his life until his retirement.

Henry built a life rooted in hard work, family, and the simple joys of the outdoors .He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed making homemade sausage with his brothers to share with family and hosting bar-b-que’s and fish fry’s for family and friends on holidays at his beloved lake house he shared with his son on Lake Corpus Christi which became treasured traditions, filled with laughter, stories and where some of the fondest of memories were made. Another favorite past time of his was occasional road trips to gamble and try his luck at casinos and horse races. Above all, Henry was a devoted husband, father, and family man who was always ready with support, guidance, or simply a listening ear.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Victoria and Felipe Garza, sister Carmen Lopez, brothers Robert, Billy and Fred Garza.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years Sylvia Garza, son Steve (Letty) Garza and daughter Vicki (John) Cantu; grandchildren Anthony Garza, Pamilla Gonzalez, Lauren and Cruz Cantu; great grandchildren Noah Hernandez, Annalise, Alaynah and Aricella Hernandez;siblings, Martha Salinas of Beeville, Luiza Garza of Three Rivers and Olivia Salazar of San Antonio; numerous nieces, nephews and friends who loved him and will miss him greatly.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00a.m. on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at Guardian Funeral Home located at 5922 Crosstown S.H. 286, Corpus Christi, TX 78417. Doors will open at 9:00a.m.
