Hellen Kathern Pounds, 83, of Slidell, Louisiana was surrounded with love when she left this earth on January 18, 2021.

Hellen was predeceased by her mother Sarah Fockler, her son Bobby Dean Turner, sister Barbara Jean Pruitt, sister Virginia Gabbert and her brother Robert Pounds. She is survived by her granddaughter Ebony Turner and numerous nieces and nephews and friends.

Hellen was born on November 6,1937 in Steelville, Missouri. She went on to live a successful and full life. Her loyal and accomplished civil service to the federal government for over 33 years was only part of her career. She loved all animals especially her cats. Hellen loved her Snowshoe cats. She dedicated a lot of her time and was instrumental in getting the snowshoe breed recognition and did everything she could to educate others on the Snowshoe breed to which she loved so much.

Hellen was an intelligent, caring friend, mother, aunt and grandmother. Hellen was an entrepreneur and if asked she could probably tell you, "I have done that" but anyone who knew her would know she would never take credit or hardly acknowledge her many accomplishments in life; she focused on what came next. Hellen left her mark on this earth.
