Hector Canales Gonzalez, age 73 was called to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 25, 2021. He was born in Alice, Texas on March 19, 1948. He was a graduate of Alice High School. Hector served as a 1st Staff Sgt. in the United States Army and was a proud Vietnam Veteran. Hector was preceded in death by his parents Abel & Elma Gonzalez, sister Sylvia Gonzalez, sister-in-law, Olinda Gonzalez, niece, Mandy Molina Trueba, many, nephews, Robert (Bobo) Valero, Jason Ray Pile, Max, and his in laws Antonio & Paula Hinojosa.

Hector is survived by his wife of 52 years Nelda, his children Hector, Jr (Michelle), Michelle (Jerry) Hernandez, Javier (Esmi) and Rolando. His grandchildren Ashlee (Randyl), Matthew, Hailee, Justin, Joshua and Nicholas and his great grandchildren, Kayden, Kenzington and Hazelynn. Fondly remembered by his siblings, Alex, Abel (Linda) Gonzalez, Irma (Nye) Canales, Velma (Robert) Molina and Loreto (Irene) Gonzalez and numerous nieces and nephews.

Hector was truly a one-of-a-kind person and everyone who met him, even if it was one time, knew that. If you knew Hector, everyone and I mean everyone was his cousin and for some reason if you were not a cousin, he still considered you family. Hector's pride and joy were watching his grand kids play ball and hardly ever missed a game. Hector was huge on spending time with his kids and family and even his best friend Andy. Hector had a passion for BBQing, fishing, hunting and going to the ranch even if it was just to work and most of all, watching the Dallas Cowboys. Dad you will truly be missed; we will promise to never forget you or let your memory fade away. We promise to continue to make you proud an keeping your legacy alive. Until we meet again, love you pops.

Mr. Hector Canales Gonzalez, 73, passed away September 25, 2021. Evening services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at Guardian funeral home chapel with visitation starting at 5:00 p.m. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at Guardian funeral home chapel ''A". Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Coastal Bend State Veterans cemetery 9974 I.H. 37 North Access Rd.
