Harlan Nathan Solis, 47, has passed to a special place in the Heavens following a courageous battle with liver disease on Tuesday, May 28, 2013.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roel Homar (Homer) and Armandina (Mandy) Solis. Harlan's passion in life included Rock & Roll music, Classic cars and hanging out with friends and family. Aside from this, his largest goal in life was raising his children. Harlan will be remembered for his big heart and desire to help anyone he could. Harlan graduated from Roy Miller High School with honors and played baseball there. He was proud to say he was a Battling Buc.
He was employed by the City of Corpus Christi then later Nueces County where he worked for the Road & Bridge department. After a vehicle accident, Harlan returned to college and earned his Associates Degree in Business Administration at Del Mar.
Harlan leaves behind many memories to be cherished by his children, Joey, Roel, Mandi Roze, Harlan, Jr., and Mireyna. Survivors also include his brothers Homer (Rosie), Henry and sisters, Nancy (Art) Ruiz and Norma (Abel) Vasquez. Immediate nieces and nephews include, Nic, Nathan and Noel Solis, Art, Elaine, and Ryne Ruiz and Adam, Aric, and Kimberly Reyna. He also leaves a huge family tree of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m., Friday, May 31, 2013 at Guardian funeral home (5922 crosstown access road between Saratoga & Holly) chapel A with a Holy Rosary and celebration of Harlan's life to begin at 7:00 p.m.
A Funeral procession will depart Guardian funeral home on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at 10:30 a.m., for an 11:00 a.m. Funeral Mass to be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic church, 1217 Lipan/Comanche.
