It is with great sadness we must announce the passing away of our father Gustavo Gutierrez Urbina at the age of 66 on March 5, 2023, after a short battle with multiple illnesses. He was born on February 13, 1957 to Cleto and Juana Gutierrez in Reynosa, Mexico. Gustavo came to the United States in 1975 to be with his wife Angela Gutierrez and he always considered Corpus to be his home. Gustavo was self-employed doing masonry work for over 47 years. He became a very well-established bricklayer. He became a member of the Corpus Christi Cursillo Group when he completed his first Cursillo in 1984. Gustavo was a man of warmth and love and was adored by everyone. He was a stranger to no one and friend to all. Many people would see him driving around town going to his job with his windows down saying hello to anyone who would call his name or honk their horn at him. He will always be remembered as a hardworking man, but friendly.

The family would like to express heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has reached out and expressed their condolences.

We would love for those who knew him to remember his life with us at Guardian Funeral Home Chapel "A". Visitation for the public will begin at 4 p.m. Thursday, March 9, 2023 , followed by a Holy Rosary at 6:30 p.m.

A funeral procession will depart Guardian Funeral Home on Friday, March 10, 2023 , at 11:30 a.m. for a 12 p.m. funeral mass at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery located at 8200 Old Brownsville Rd.
