IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Guillerma Concepcion
Rivera
July 11, 1963 – May 23, 2023
Guillerama "Gillie" Rivera, 59, of Corpus Christi passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 surrounded by her family. Gillie fought a long battle with cancer. She was born on July 11, 1963 and is the late daughter of Felipe and Refugia Reyes Rios.
She worked at various restaurants throughout the years. Most recently she worked at Whataburger in Portland, Texas where she quickly became an unforgettable person. Her coworkers and customers loved her sass and contagious laugh. Her love for a glass of ice cold Dr. Pepper would quickly earn you a place in her heart!
She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, and cousin. Her family was the center of her life, and she loved spending as much time with them as she could. Her sense of humor and cookies were always something to look forward to at family functions. She loved to spend time with her husband Johnny whether it was sitting at home watching tv or walking downtown by the water.
Gillie is survived by her devoted husband Johnny of 44 years; five children; Phillip (Carla) Rios, Benjamin (Roxanne) Rivera, Maggie (Aaron) Moss, Denise (Antron) Adkinson, and Vanessa; 12 grandchildren, McKenna, Gabriel, Chloe, Sebastian, Eleazar, Summer, Landon, Hunter, Matthew, Conner, Abigail and Tiara and 1 great grandbaby on the way; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The Rivera family would like to thank the entire staff at Del Cielo Hospice for their compassionate care. Gillie's family would also like to thank Dr. Panati, Dr. Au and all the staff at the Christus Spohn Cancer center as well Dr. Macias and staff at South Texas Brain and Spine.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers please consider donating to the Glioblastoma Foundation.
