Guadalupe T. Martinez, 82, passed away February 4, 2015 with family by her side. She formerly worked as a Bridal Consultant at Lamar's Bridal Shop before retiring from JC Penneys. Mrs. Martinez was one of the first founders of The Golden Girls and very active in helping with political campaigns. She enjoyed dancing and socializing with friends, and was well known as one of the most beautiful and classiest woman ever. But her greatest joy was dancing with our Dad, whom she can now dance with again.
She was wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and had a great love for her family. She will be truly missed by all who knew her, but we know that she is now resting peacefully with The Lord. Thank you Mom, for all your love, guidance and direction. We were truly blessed to have you as our mother. We love you!
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ramon J. Martinez; her mother, Paula Macias; and her brother, Alejandro Trevino.
She survived by her children, Gilbert (Gloria) T. Hinojosa, Dyanne (Fred) Munoz of San Antonio, Texas; Sylvia A. Valentin, Cynthia (David) Del Llano, David (Yvette) Martinez of Corpus Christi, Texas; Abelardo (Toni) Martinez of Houston, Texas; and Sandra L. Martinez of Austin, Texas.
