Graciela "Grace" Rodriguez, 62, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on December 17, 2016. Grace was born in Falfurrias, Texas on January 15, 1954 to George G. Garcia, Sr., and Maria M. Garcia. She is preceded in death by her father, George G. Garcia, Sr., mother, Maria M. Garcia, brother, Godfrey Garcia, Sr., sister, Yolanda G. Rodriguez. Grace is survived by her husband, Jose Jesus Rodriguez, her son Patrick Garcia, Sr. and daughter, Melissa Ortega. One sister, Gloria Garcia Madrigal (Ray), brothers, George Garcia, Jr. (Lucy), Gilbert Garcia, Meliton (Mel) Garcia,(Dalia), Gustavo Garcia, Mario Garcia, Grandchildren, Anahi, Nayeli Ortega, Patrick Jr., Kaela, and Tracy. Five great grandchildren. Grace had been employed with Lab Corp for the past thirty years. She was a faithful, responsible, energetic, and dependable employee. Gracie had a great attitude about her work. She was known for always saying "Dale Shine". She enjoyed working, but when her medical problems began it lead her to stop working. She really felt sad. She always said she would go right back to work as soon as she got better. The lord had better plans for her. She will be dearly missed by granddaughters Anahi and Nayeli who were the pride of her life.Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Guardian funeral home chapel "A" with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that evening. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Friday, December 23, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic church 710 S. 19th. St. Burial will follow at the Coastal Bend State Veterans cemetery, 9974 IH 37 Access Rd.Exit #9.
