It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beautiful Mother, Grace Avila Garcia. She was 77 years old when she received her angel wings on Saturday, February 15th, after living a Christian life filled with the word of God. She was born and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas.

She touched the lives of all that knew her. Always ready to feed any hungry soul with her delicious creations or with the word of God.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband Candelario Garcia Jr. Also by her parents, Aurora Martinez Avila, Presentación Avila Sr., granddaughter, Amanda Marie Hernandez and siblings, Angelica Avila, Rudolfo Avila, Antonio Avila Sr., Presentación Avila Jr. and Sandra Avila.

She is survived by her son, Rolando (Veronica) Hernandez Jr., daughter, Suzette Cardona (Luke Alvarez), step-children, Rosa (Emilano) Garcia and Marcello Garcia. Other survivors include her sisters, Adela Hernandez, Sylvia Torres, Patricia (Juan) Vallejo, Rosa (Luis) Madrigal, Celia (Fidel) Alba, Diana (Humberto) Medina and Nora Avila (Mario Hinojosa). She is also survived by her loving grandchildren, Rolando Estevan Hernandez III, Kaeli Iolani Hernandez, Christopher Sebriano Salinas, and Sidney Jersi Alvarez.

To celebrate her incredible journey in life and the love she spread to all, funeral services will be held in her honor at Guardian Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, from 4pm to 8pm, with chapel service beginning at 6:30 p m, on Wednesday.
