IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Gloria Elva
Gonzalez
April 16, 1938 – May 20, 2023
Gloria Elva Gonzalez, 85 years young , entered eternal rest on Saturday May 20, 2023. She was born in San Ignacio, Tamaulipas on April 16, 1938 (en Sabado de Gloria that's why she was named Gloria) to Ignacio Ramirez and Petra Lerma. She had been living in Corpus Christi Texas for the past 35 years.
Our beloved Mama was a hard working strong woman, she loved her family dearly she put everyone before herself, she grew up a migrant worker, factory worker and health care provider, private babysitter, even volunteered as a Senior Companion for years.
Eagle Pass, Texas was her home while raising her children, she was employed at Dickies Jean factory. Throughout her young adult life she lived in Seminole, Texas where she met the love of her life while picking cotton.
In her later years she found great joy in the thrill of bingo; she loved to play bingo bingo and more bingo, several Bingo halls knew her by name!
She had a passion for plants and the outdoors in general. She had a very tender heart for babies and animals. To say she was a great cook is an understatement; not one person left her house hungry, or at minimum a cup of coffee! One of our favorites was her homemade fried chicken. This beautiful legacy of love and devotion to her family will fill our hearts with joy for generations to come.
She was preceded in death by her dearly beloved husband Cuauhtemoc J. Gonzalez, sons Sergio, Eleazar and Juan; also by her brother Jessie Ramirez and Sister Andrea Martinez.
She is survived by her son Jose I. (Lorena) Gonzalez and daughter Emma (Javier) Longoria; her grandchildren: Tessa (Randy) Estrada , Magaly (Lonnie) Estrada, Cuauhtemoc Gonzalez, Isabel Gonzalez, Joey (Tracy) Gonzalez, Bryan (Diana) Gonzalez, Javier Eric Longoria, Monica Longoria, Sarah (William) Luis; 8-great-grand children and 2 great great grandchildren; along with her brother Manuel Ramirez, sisters Janie Hernandez and Josie De Hoyos and a host of extended family members whom she loved.
Those that knew her well, Loved her very well! We, as a family, are so blessed to have felt this love through the years and even more so in her absence.
The Lord bless you and keep you…Numbers 6:24-26 in Jesus Name
