Gloria Escochea Cortes, 57, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Friday, September 1, 2017, when she lost her battle to a longtime illness.
Born to Salvador Escochea and Guadalupe Hernandez in Alice, Texas on January 1, 1960. Her free spirit always brought life to the party, she enjoyed playing bingo, a good game of pool, and loved being surrounded by her family and friends.
Gloria is survived by her children, Veronica Escochea (Santos Mendez), Monique Sanchez (Adrian), and Alfonso Godinez Jr. (Susie); 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, all of whom she shared an unbreakable bond with. She is also survived by her sisters, Evangelina Vela (Luis), Teresa Holgin, Maria H. Escochea (Diana), Lupe Quiroz, Mercedes Gonzalez (Victor); her brothers, Paul Escochea, Jimmy Escochea (Ruth), Mike Escochea (Rose), Robert Escochea, Salvador (Chava) Escochea (Norma), Frank Villegas, Agustin Martinez, David Escochea and numerous nieces and nephews.
Gloria is preceded in death by her parents and her loving brother Salvador Escochea Jr.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 6, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m . with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. that evening at Guardian Funeral Home. A chapel service will be held Thursday, September 7, at 11 a.m. also at Guardian Funeral Home.
