Gilberto Villarreal born on September 28,1951 in McAllen, Texas passed away on March 1st 2025, at the age of 73.
Gilberto's journey through life was marked by an unwavering commitment to his wife and only daughter, Sara Ann Villarreal. Gilbert shared a beautiful marriage with his wife Rachel Villarreal of 45 years.
Gilbert's legacy will continue through his three cherished grandchildren, Jayda Hope , Kane Mercy and Charles Matthew Rivers. He was a beloved brother to Daniel (Dianne) Villarreal, Armando (Angelita) Villarreal, Alfredo (Rosario) Villarreal, and Efrein (Norma) Villarreal, along with numerous nieces and nephews
Gilberto was a Sgt. in The United States Air Force. He found his passion for cars and was retired from the United States Postal Service. He was a member of Segunda Ingelsia Bautista. He was a preacher, a man of God, a devoted husband and loving father. He would spread the word of God to anybody he came across. His affectionate nature extended to his dog Pickles who was a constant companion and a source of comfort after losing the love of his life. Their bond was a testament to Gilberto's capacity for love, which knew no bounds and extended to all living creatures.
Gilberto is preceded in death by his parents, Daniel Villarreal and Estefana G. Villarreal.
As we remember Gilberto, we celebrate a life lived with purpose and joy. We honor a man who is cherished by his family above all else and who found happiness in the simple pleasures of life. His laughter, warmth, and the wisdom he shared will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew him.
Gilbert's family will receive condolences on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at Guardian Funeral Home located at 5922 Crosstown Access Rd., Corpus Christi, Texas 78417. Visitation will start at 10:00am with a funeral service at 12:00pm. Interment with full military honors to follow at 2:00pm at The Costal Bend State Veterans Cemetery located at 9974 I-37, Corpus Christi, Texas 78410.
