Gilberto Leal of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away suddenly on January 20, 2021 at the age of 61.

He was born on November 10, 1959 in Corpus Christi Texas to Luciano Leal, Sr. and Santiaga Puente Leal.

Gilbert was an amazing and loving father, brother, uncle, son, friend and dedicated hard working man.

He leaves behind his only beloved son: Philip Omar Leal; his brothers: Jose Luis (Clara) Leal and children: Joe G., Daniel and Margo; Andres (Celia +) Leal and children: Vanessa M., Andrea N. Espinosa, Andres, Jr. and Gabriela; sisters: Lucia (Juan) Ruiz and children: Elizabeth Ruiz, David Ruiz, and John Matthew Ruiz; Mary Ann (George) Pena and children: Jorge M. Pena, Jennifer D. Montelongo and many other loving members of the family and countless friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents Luciano Leal, Sr. and Santiaga Puente Leal; brother Luciano Leal, Jr.

Serving as pallbearers will be his son Philip Omar Leal, and nephews: Jorge Michael Pena, Matthew Ruiz, David Ruiz, Daniel Leal, Joe G. Leal.

Public Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Guardian Funeral Home Chapel A; a Holy Rosary will be recited at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Pillar Catholic Church with the Burial to follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park at 1 p.m.

After the conclusion of the committal service; the family will gather at the IBEW Local 278 Union Hall at 2301 Saratoga Blvd; if you are not comfortable staying for the reception, take out plates will be provided; everyone is welcome.
