Gilberto Garcia passed on to his eternal rest on May 16, 2021 at the age of 76.
He was born in Weslaco, Texas to Merce and Pauline Garcia on April 28, 1945.
He was a beloved father, grandfather, and brother.

Gilberto proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps serving two tours in the Vietnam war. He attended Corpus Christi State University now known as Texas A&M Corpus Christi where he obtained his Bachelor's degree in Science. Gilberto continued to serve his community through civil service until his retirement from the Corpus Christi Army Depot. Throughout his life he thoroughly enjoyed watching and attending sports with his family. He dedicated many years of his life attending his children's sports. He also enjoyed the beach and spending time with his grandchildren. Gilberto was an active member and officer of VFW Post 8932.

He was a man of purpose that continuously provided for his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his children: Gabriel Garcia (Trisha), Marlenna Bosquez (Josh), Matthew Garcia; and six grandchildren: Madison, Gage, Paige, John Matthew, Zane, and Maggie; brothers: Merce Garcia, Ernesto Garcia, and sister Elvia Palacios (Paul).

Public Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at Guardian Funeral Home Chapel A with a Chapel Service to be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. that afternoon.

Burial with full military honors will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.

Reception to follow after the conclusion of the committal service at Guardian Hall 5813 Ayers St.
