Gilbert (Coche) Rodriguez passed away at home on Sunday, July 18, 2021 at the age of 73.
He was born on August 26, 1947 in Corpus Christi, Texas, where he would attended Miller High School. "Once a Buc, Always a Buc"
At a young age Gilbert learned the value of hard work and perseverance. He made a lifelong career in the art of the meat market industry working as a butcher. Gilbert was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He enjoyed Nascar, Schlitz and deer hunting.
He found joy through the simple things in life; like barbecuing for his friends and family; the wonderful reward after finishing the lawn work or cooking that "Big Sunday Breakfast" he was known for. Spending time with family and in turn creating priceless memories that will live on for generations to come.
He joins now in heaven his parents Eva Rodriguez and Guadalupe Rodriguez and siblings: Gloria Zaragoza, Rudy Rodriguez and Sylvia Molina.
Gilbert is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Marie Delia Rodriguez. They were married in Corpus Christi Cathedral on August of 1967.
Gilbert is lovingly remembered by his children Chris Rodriguez (Lucy) of League City, Dennis Rodriguez of Deer Park,TX, Bryan Rodriguez of Bristol, RI, and Ryan Rodriguez (Nicole) of Corpus Christi, TX; five loving grandchildren: Jacob, Arnold, Luke, Julia and Morgan; siblings: Bobby Rodriguez (Lupita), Ida Saenz (Johnny), Oscar Rodriguez (Irene), Arnold Rodriguez (Liz), Gracie Garcia (Daniel) Luis Rodriguez, Richard Rodriguez and Diana Rodriguez; along with numerous nieces and nephews. He will also be lovingly remembered by his Vega and Adame family.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 23, 2021 from 3 p.m.- 7 p.m. with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 5:00 p.m. at Guardian Funeral Home, 5922 Crosstown, Corpus Christi,
Fellowship to follow from 7 p.m. - 10 p.m. at the VFW Hall , 4441 Ayers Street, Corpus Christi, Tx.
