Obituary

Gilbert K. Knupp or "Gibby" as he was intimately known, passed away on July 24, 2021 at his home in Corpus Christi, Texas.

He was born in Middletown, Pennsylvania on December 13, 1941 and moved to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania when he was nine; where he attended Bethlehem Public Schools and graduated from Moravian College.

The majority of his career was in Sales and Marketing for a major carpet company.
He retired to Montana and lived his dream on Flathead Lake for 17 years. He and his wife moved to Texas 4 years ago to be near family.

Gibby would have been married 58 years in October to his high school and college sweetheart. He was a devoted husband and father.

Gibby was a strong man with a big heart who always brought a smile to your face. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was so likeable.
He would always give you his full attention and make you feel welcome and comfortable. He was present in the moment when he was with you.

Gibby was an avid sportsman and made a difference in the lives of others by sharing his knowledge of hunting and fishing. He got more thrills from others bagging their game and catching fish. He was a perfect example of sharing and caring.

In addition to his parents, George Gilbert Knupp and Ruth Kohr Knupp; he was preceded in death by his two sisters, Rita Burke and Gwen Keller.

Surviving in addition to his devoted wife Susan (Kovacs) Knupp; his daughter Kelli Sue Knupp of Rockport; his two grandsons, Gregory Gibby Knupp and his wife Cori of Calallen, Taylor Simpson of Rockport; and his two great grandsons, of whom he was so proud, Casen Knupp and Gage Knupp of Calallen.

We wish to express our heartfelt appreciation to those who have been present, both near and far; all of the beautiful ways you each continue to show your love and support will not soon be forgotten.
