George Dorsey Rueff, Sr. died in his sleep of natural causes on November 28, 2020.  He was born in Louisville, KY on October 22, 1935.

He is preceded in death by his parents Bill and Harriet Rueff, wives Gwendolyn Ann Stoops Rueff, Joyce Frakes Rueff, children Willie Frakes, Kathy Hackney and brother Bill Rueff.

He is survived by his brother Jim Rueff, children George Rueff Jr. (Anne Hawes), Greg Rueff, Cindy Smith (Andy Smith), Catherine Haynes, Michael Frakes (Kim), Beth Littrel (Richard), Steven Lawyer (Donna), and Philip Ledford (Barb). Grandchildren Natasha Rueff, David Rueff, Christine Elizondo, Dolan Smith, James Smith, Carolyn Smith, Jordan Haynes, Miles Frakes, Mason Frakes, Nikki Judd, Anthony Littrell, Asher Littrell, Brittany Borsage, Brian Hackney, Tim Hackney, Stephen Lawyer (Donna), and 24 great grandchildren.

In 1957 George married Gwendolyn in Louisville, KY.  In their 25 years together, they had four children and moved to Flour Bluff in 1967 where he worked in sales for the Gibson Greeting Card company from Corpus Christi to the Valley.  He also worked for Krogers in Kingsville, TX, Uni Refinery in Ingleside, TX, Valero Refinery in Corpus Christi, TX, and Montgomery Ward in Corpus Christi where he retired in 2000.

George met Joyce at the Flour Bluff Bowling lanes and they married in 1996. Joyce had five children and George treated them as his own.

George loved to paint using pastels and oils and was a gifted artist.  He also enjoyed golfing, fishing and shooting pool with his friends.

His heart was full of love for his family and he befriended any person he met and leaves behind many friends in Flour Bluff, TX.

His remains will be cremated and due to the virus pandemic, there will be no service at this time.
