George L Paine III, passed away on April 4, at the age of 88, surrounded by his devoted step-daughter and family. He was the son of the late George L. Paine and Alveda Rose Paine. He was born in Provincetown, MA., attended school there, later joining the armed services. He was stationed in Fairbanks Alaska, after leaving the army he became a commercial fisherman. He moved south to join his father in the shrimping business. It was in Corpus Christi where he met the love of his life Betty Baker, settled in Corpus Christi and worked at a government job until his retirement. He was an avid hunter and recreational fishermen, but his passion in life was raising chickens. He was predeceased by three sisters Alberta DeRiggs, Harriett Quinlan & Carolyn Borton. He is survived by his sister Nancy P. Meads, her husband Lawrence and their five children, stepdaughter Sandra Dunson, her husband George and daughter Nicole. Three stepsons Robert Baker, James Baker and Michael Baker, many nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held Friday, April 20, 2018 at 1 PM at the coastal Bend State veterans Cemetery 9974 I.H. 37 Access Road
