George J. Kampert, Jr., age 78, passed away December 4, 2015 with his family by his side. George was born in Topeka, Kansas on March 24, 1937 to George and Edna Kampert., Sr. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Judy, his three children, Kim Klempnauer (Todd),David Kampert (Aimee) and Devin Kampert; his six grandchildren; his deceased sister's family (Johnnie Dee & John Miller); his brother-in-law Roger Sassman (Carol) and family. George served his country proudly in the United States Marine Corps before he was able to obtain advanced degrees in higher education which were beneficial later in his career. George and his staff at Flour Bluff I.S.D. had one of the best Special Education programs in the State of Texas. After retiring from Flour Bluff I.S.D., he continued his education expertise by monitoring school districts all over Texas for the Texas Education Agency until he finally retired and traveled and cruised to all parts of the world with his wife, Judy. He was always glad to get home after one of these trips to his beloved dogs, Lil Bo Jangles and Spice Girl and his cat, Callie. George loved watching his NCAA football games while most of the time rooting for the underdogs. He enjoyed being with his friends at Ethel Eyerly Senior Citizen's Center and also his church family at Lord of Life Lutheran Church. George was a humble man who loved his fellow man and was there for any one in need. A Memorial service for George will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 1317 Flour Bluff Drive, Corpus Christi, Texas, 78418 with Marine Military honors. Memorial contributions may be made to George's Church or to the Salvation Army.
