George Campos, 62, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away on August 17, 2015, peacefully while surrounded by family.
George was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on February 11, 1953 and attended Roy Miller High School. He married Maria E. Campos (Morin) on November 22, 1971. They would have been married 43 years.
He began working as an auto mechanic at 15 years of age and he continued passionately for years, later becoming a self-employed business owner of several auto shops, he is best known as Gem's Car Care Center for the last 25 years. After a short-lived retirement, he was blessed enough to have found his second passion-bus driving children for Flour Bluff ISD. The last few years he was able to combine both passions-transporting children and working in the auto shop.
Throughout life, George enjoyed reading, fishing, boating, movies, and spending time with friends and family, but most of all, spending time with his pride and joy-his grandson, Isaiah.
George did not live life for himself, but for his family and friends and those who were blessed to know him will miss his intelligence, humor, strength and love.
A memorial service will be held at Guardian Funeral Home Thursday August 27,2015 at 6:00 p.m.
