Genny Aratthy Najera, passed away with peace and grace surrounded by her loving family on October 16, 2018. She was born in Progresso, Yucatan, Mexico to her parents Jose and Yolanda Arce, on October 12, 1945.
She attended schools in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico, where she participated in the Folklorico program. She enjoyed decorating and always kept a beautiful home. She also enjoyed listening to music, going for long rides, and going to the beach. One of her proudest joys was when she received her U.S. Citizenship. Genny had many joys in her life, but her pride and joy were her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She leaves us rich in many beautiful memories.
Genny is preceded in death by her father Jose Arce, her brothers Eyner and Edgar Arce, and her granddaughter Lauren Avery Garza.
She is survived by her loving husband Raul F. Najera, Daughters, Elizabeth M. Allen, Grace Lorraine (John David) Bazan, and Bridget (Ben) Garza. Mother, Yolanda Arce, Sister, Sylvia (Gabriel) Urteaga, Brother, William Arce. Grandchildren, Kari (Tom) Finken, Christianne Allen, Michelle (Charlie Saenz) Allen. Avery Marie Garza and Ben Joseph Garza. Six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Our sincere thanks to family and friends for your support during this difficult time. A special thanks to Yvonne Goulet who twelve years earlier had unselfishly donated one of her kidneys to Genny which allowed her to be with us for twelve extra years. We love you all.
