Obituary

Gary Dee Hoyt passed away on Feb 8, 2022 at his home in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was born Nov 3,1939 in Macy, Nebraska. He graduated from Fairfield High School and went directly into the U.S. Navy where he retired after 20 years of honorable service.

Soon after h e went to Central Community College in Hastings, Nebraska and received an Associate degree in heating and air conditioning. He then accepted a job at U.S. Customs in Corpus Christi where he worked as an aircraft mechanic. He was a life time member of the American Legion and USS Intrepid Association. He loved fishing, cooking, and playing poker. In 1967 he married Bonnie Daum, also from Fairfield, Nebraska. They had 2 children.

He was survived by his wife Bonnie, daughter Corinne, son Eric, and daughter-in-law Crystal. There are five grandchildren Caleb, Joshua, Jacob, Liam, and Sydney.

Gary is proceeded in death by his mother Fern Hoyt, father Frank Hoyt, and sister, Brenda Moncrief.

A memorial service will be held at Guardian Funeral Home on February 26th from 1-3 pm. Family will be there to welcome friends and family. Gary will then be taken to Clay Center, Nebraska for funeral services and will be buried at the Fort McPherson National Cemetery in Maxwell, NE.
