Gary Lynn Hicks of Corpus Christi passed on March 5, 2022, he was 72 yrs. Born in Cleburne, TX to Nora Nell Eaton and Robert Edwin Hicks on 03/09/1949, He grew up in Austin, TX where he gained an affinity for the Texas Longhorns, Good Food, and Ice-Cold Pepsi. While working on the oil rigs offshore out of Louisiana, He earned an opportunity to train under Mr. Paul Prudhomme due to a chance meeting with him

He would go on to cook for many years and had the honor and privilege to cook for many famous people in his career to include both George's Strait and Jones, along with many others. After being in the Culinary Arts profession for many years he decided to settle in Corpus Christi and go back to school at Corpus Christi State University where he achieved his bachelor's degree in Computer Programming.

He lived in the Flour Bluff Area for many years. He is Survived by his loving wife of 33 years Elizabeth Hicks, His three boys Michael Hicks (Austin, TX) Christopher (Tamara) Smart (New Braunfels), And Karl Hicks (Marysville, WA) grandchildren Janna Hicks and Adam Hicks.

In Lue of Flowers the family kindly ask that you send a donation of any amount to the Diabetes Association in honor of Mr. Gary L Hicks. There will not be any formal services for him, but you are asked to release an Orange and White Balloon on Wednesday March 09,2022 to celebrate what would have been his 73rd birthday.
