Obituary
Gary Lee Hefley was born October 23, 1942 in Ardmore, Oklahoma. He died Tuesday, January 9, 2018, at his home in Corpus Christi, Texas, at the age of 75 years, 2 months & 16 days.
Gary grew up in Davis, Oklahoma, where he graduated high school in 1960. Following high school, Gary attended the Oklahoma State University. After college, Gary spent several years working in the oil field, prior to moving to Texas where he worked for Texas Instruments. In 1978 he moved to Corpus Christi where he and his son Bryan, owned and operated the Tri-County Exterminating Company. In 2012, due to failing health, Gary was forced to retire.
In his spare time, Gary enjoyed reading the Davis News each week to keep up with all the happenings back home in Davis. He also enjoyed spending weekends at his lake home with his family cooking out and relaxing.
Survivors include three children, Bryan Hefley, Michael Hefley and Jessica Rene` Hefley; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, all of Corpus Christi. Gary is also survived by two uncles, James Hefley and Jerry Hefley; three aunts, Carra Malicoat, Iva Pletcher and Delma Wilson; as well as numerous cousins, all of Davis, OK.
Gary was preceded in death by his mother, Mary (Hefley) Norwood and his grandparents who raised him, Jim and Mamie Hefley.
Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, January 15, 2018 at Guardian Funeral Home.
