Gary Hausman-Pels, a beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend, left our world on March 11, 2023 at the age of 70.

Gary is survived by his mother (Mildred Pels), his sister (Julie McAlister), brother (Lee Hausman-Pels), wife (Shae Hausman-Pels), daughter (Hailey Hausman-Pels), son (Matthew Hausman-Pels), daughter-in law (Lochie Hausman-Pels), granddaughters (Madison and Landry Hausman-Pels) and other family and dear friends.

Preceding him in death was his father (Jerry Hausman), step-father (Jule Pels), and sister (Susan Pels).

Gary was born in Corpus Christi on December 24, 1952. He graduated from Richard King High School in 1971 and worked as a butcher for a many years. Gary spent most of his life in Corpus Christi where he enjoyed fishing and surfing. Gary also loved to play games with his kids and grandchildren teaching them chess and many card games.

Anyone that truly knew Gary, knew he had such a big heart. He loved his children and grandchildren deeply. In addition to his unconditional love for his children and grandchildren, Gary also loved animals just like his dad. Over his lifetime he rescued many dogs and cats giving them their forever home.

There will be a Celebration of Life held in his honor at Temple Beth El 4402 Saratoga Blvd. on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at 2pm. Contributions in memory of Gary can be made to the Gulf Coast Humane Society or Temple Beth El.
