Gary Gilbert Guerra took his last breath on Monday, September 13, 2021 at the age of 43, surrounded by his family.

He was born to Gilbert Guerra and Viola Barrientos Guerra on June 12, 1978 and was a lifelong resident of Corpus Christi, Texas.

Gary was recently diagnosed with terminal cancer and fought a brave and courageous battle until the end. Gary was an artist specializing in hand painted baseballs and was an avid collector of sports memorabilia and vintage toys. He was a huge Houston Astros fan and enjoyed going to games and watching them on TV. He also enjoyed watching vintage TV shows, playing the lottery, playing slot machines, listening to oldies music, eating good home cooking and fast-food.

Gary enjoyed life, especially the simple things in life like having a beer or two with his brother, his 3 cats, and reminiscing on good times with all his family. Gary was a very shy and brave soul. His humble ways and immense strength especially during the last days of his life have made us very proud to have shared this lifetime with him. We are comforted to know he is resting peacefully and enjoying all the benefits of heaven with our parents and the rest of our family members who have gone before us.

Gary leaves behind his sister Marisel Guerra, (Jose Limon); brother Gilbert Gerald Guerra; niece Sierra Michele Guerra (Malcom Castaneda); great niece Violet Ariana Castaneda, and great nephew Christian Andrew Castaneda.

Public visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. Sunday, October 3, 2021 at Guardian Funeral Home Chapel with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m. A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 4, 2021 at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
