IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Garry Lynn
Gallimore
September 16, 1940 – October 13, 2023
Garry Lynn Gallimore, of Sandia, passed away on October 13, 2023.
Garry was born on September 16, 1940 in Alice, Texas, the son of Joseph Harold Gallimore and Frances Beverly Baker. Garry joined the military before he even finished high school and enjoyed a long career in the Marine Corps and Air Force from 1958 to 1979. During his time in the military, he met his wife Yuriko (Takanashi) Gallimore.
Garry was a great joke teller and loved to make people laugh. He enjoyed fishing on the pier and spending Tuesdays with his "Over the Hill Gang." He loved cooking for his family and friends. His brisket and chili will always be remembered and his hot sauce will probably never be duplicated. Later in life, he could be found watching reruns in his recliner or reminiscing about the good old days over Blue Bell.
He is survived by his wife, Yuriko, his sons, Kennith J. Gallimore and Joseph G. (Victoria) Gallimore, his daughter, Frances H. (Shawn) Barber, and grandchildren Taylor (Connell), Brooke, Ethan, Gavin, and Giana. He will be remembered by countless friends and family, including, cousins, nieces, and nephews, along with their children.
Garry was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Frances Gallimore, his brothers, Bradley and Jody Gallimore, and his son Robert J. Gallimore.
There will be no memorial services, as Garry has chosen for his ashes to remain with his bride until they can be interred together.
A celebration of life will be held for close family and friends at his home in Lagarto on Sunday, October 29, 2023 from 1:00-3:00 pm.
