IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Galdino "Rick"
Dalton
October 23, 1962 – November 28, 2021
On Sunday, November 28, 2021, Galdino "Rick" Dalton, loving husband and father of four children, passed away at the age of 59. Galdino was born on October 23, 1962, in Corpus Christi, TX, to Julian and Conception (Lugo) Dalton.
Rick, in his lifetime, worked as a roofer, a sandblaster, a driver for World Ship Supply, and was known as "the snack dude" when he worked for Sunrise vending. But the job he was most appreciative and proud of was being the support the family needed at just the right moment. This included being the first at family functions so he could help you set up, to which he would then leave before the actual party started. Or even things like taking you to breakfast, or bringing you a baseball from 10 years ago, or bringing you a shirt or jersey of your favorite sports team. This man would give the shirt off his back just to see a flicker of happiness in a person's eyes. At the time of his death, he was employed with the Corpus Christi Army Depot. There he worked as an Apache Helicopter mechanic. He would say, " I truly believe that the job I did on those blades was one of the most important jobs of my life. He would say that those blades carried our sons and daughters, "someone's child on their way to defend the freedoms of this country."
Rick is survived by his wife of 34 years, Vivian Colon Dalton. His children, Son Nicholas (Cherie) Dalton, Son Julian (Natasha) Dalton, Daughter Samantha Dalton, Daughter Ashley (Cindy) Diaz. His Grand Children Callum Ray Dalton and Carlos Andres Diaz. His sisters Estella (Manuel) Muro, Patsy "Lil Sister" Dalton. His Theo Gilbert Lugo, his Tia's Mary Lou Gonzalez and Janie Garcia. As well as his two dogs or lifelong walking companions Elliot and
Dax, better known as "Shitter dog" He is further survived by multiple nephews, nieces, and cousins, as well as a multitude of lifelong friends.
He is preceded in death by his son Nicholas Julian Dalton, his precious mother Conception Dalton, His father Julian Dalton, his Wella Estella Lugo, uncle Juan, Hilario and Julian Lugo. As Well as his brother Lawrence Dalton. Not to forget some of his lifelong friends Harlan Solis, Jessies Hoskins, and Israel Scott.
Sometimes, Rick would come into a room with a resting mean mug on his face; however, if you knew Rick, you knew deep down he had a passion for making people smile and befriended everyone he met. He was a fan of every sport, especially the ones his kids, nieces, nephews, and anyone he might have known on the field, whether it was his work friends' kid or a person from down the block. He had been a football star at Wynn Seale Jr. High before his career was ended early, succumbing to chronic knee injuries. He later shared his passion for anything athletics with his children and thus began to coach them in sports like Baseball, Basketball, and even competitive swimming. Along the way, our family expanded with all the children Rick would end up coaching. With careful consideration, the family has decided not to release the names of every single child that Rick has come to accept as his own. With that being said, if your reading this, you might have been one of his children.
Rick Will be remembered as a forever devoted Husband, Father, Brother, Uncle, Caregiver, Coach, Best friend, Nephew, and just a good guy.
This is a small story about Galdino "Rick" Dalton.
On Saturday, December 4, 2021, a memorial service will be held at 4 pm at Corpus Christi Christian Fellowship. 6602 S Staples St, Corpus Christi, TX 78413
