Obituary

Gabriel Vallejo, beloved baby son, brother, uncle, husband and a friend to all who knew him, passed away on August 5, 2025, in Corpus Christi, Texas, at the age of 43. Born on September 25, 1981, in Santa Ana, California, Gabriel's warm spirit and infectious smile brought happiness to those around him throughout his life.

Gabriel discovered his passion for creating vibrant dishes that delighted the senses and shared his love for cooking with friends and family. His love for cooking led him to a fulfilling career as a chef, where he not only shared his talent but also his heart, making every meal a testament to his dedication and love for his craft.

Gabriel's life was rich with the joy he found in simple pleasures. He had an enduring love for playing checkers with his Grandpa Sal, a pastime that brought him great happiness, even though Grandpa Sal's unbeatable strategies always kept Gabriel on his toes. This playful rivalry was one of many cherished memories that Gabriel's family will hold close to their hearts.

Gabriel's love for sports was another of his defining characteristics. He was an avid fan of the Dodgers, Dolphins, and Lakers, and his enthusiasm for his teams was contagious. Whether cheering them on from the stands or from his living room, Gabriel never missed an opportunity to show his support, and his loyalty to his favorite teams was as unwavering as his loyalty to his loved ones.

Gabriel's best friend was a cat named "Big Sal," a feline companion who was by his side through thick and thin. Their bond was a testament to Gabriel's loving nature, and "Big Sal" was more than just a pet; he was a member of the family, a confidant, and a source of endless joy for Gabriel.

Above all, Gabriel was a man who never hesitated to express his love for his family and friends. His mother Anola Reuting, step-father Keith Reuling, and all who were blessed to be part of his life knew without a doubt that they were loved deeply. His kindness and friendly demeanor were the cornerstone of countless cherished relationships, and his legacy of love and compassion will continue to inspire those who knew him.

Gabriel's thoughtful nature extended beyond his inner circle, as he took pride in helping people whenever he could. His willingness to always lend a hand will forever inspire his family and friends to keep that legacy going.

As we say farewell to Gabriel Vallejo, we celebrate a life lived with joy, generosity, and an unwavering commitment to enriching the lives of others. His memory will live on in the countless acts of kindness he performed, the delicious meals he crafted, and the love he so freely gave. Gabriel's smile, his thoughtful nature, and his boundless love will be deeply missed.

A message from mom:

Nannies, you will be spending your birthday with the Lord and with your grandparents. You're probably playing checkers with grandpa but don't let him beat you this time! I love you always baby and I miss you. We will be together again. Goodbye.

Love, always,

Mom
