Fred “Rick” Cade Mazzola, born on May 7, 1939, in San Antonio, Texas, passed away on May 25, 2026, in Corpus Christi, Texas, leaving behind a life marked by devotion to family, steady work, and the simple joys that brought him happiness.

Rick was a man of strong character and quiet strength, and those who knew him will remember his warm presence, his dependable nature, and the pride he took in the life he built. Rick graduated from Burbank High School in 1958 and later moved to Dallas, Texas, where he began the next chapter of his life. He went on to work for the City of Dallas for 30 years, dedicating himself to public service with consistency and commitment. He retired in 1993 after a long and honorable career. His work ethic and dedication were evident to all who knew him, and he took pride in doing his part well.

Family was central to Rick's life. He married Sandra Waters in 1963, and together they welcomed their daughter, Claudia, in 1968. In 2005, he married Nancy Weixel, who remained his beloved wife.

Rick enjoyed the pleasures of everyday life and found joy in the things he loved most. He loved to fish, and time spent outdoors was time well spent in his eyes. He was also a loyal Dallas Cowboys football fan never missing a game if he could help it. In addition, he enjoyed fast cars and motorcycles, interests that reflected his appreciation for speed, style, and the excitement of the open road. Those who knew Rick will remember him as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He lived a full life shaped by hard work, family ties, and enduring interests that brought him happiness over the years. 

Rick is survived by Nancy; his daughter, Claudia; his son-in-law, Andy Lovings; his three grandchildren, Anthony, Haleigh, and Lora of Wichita, Kansas; and his step-son, Jerry Mazzola. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Michael Mazzola.

Rick's memory will remain a source of comfort and love to those who were fortunate enough to share in his life. Fred "Rick" Cade Mazzola will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
