Obituary

Frank Aulston Kelso, 86, joined our heavenly father on Monday, January 9, 2023 followed by his beloved wife Alice Sue Boyle Kelso, 85, on Friday, January 13, 2023. They passed away peacefully in their home surrounded by the love of family and close friends.

Frank was born September 20, 1936 in Bellville, Texas and Alice was born on November 23, 1937 in Dumas, Texas.

Alice was the love of Frank's life for 69+ years. They met at church and were married shortly after at age 16 and 17. From that day forward they were inseparable. Together they raised four beautiful children Sheri Kelso Adamez, Frank Allen Kelso, Keith Clay Kelso and Jo Elizabeth Kelso.
Alice was a nurturing mother, wife, and grandmother who took great pleasure in caring for her family. She was a wonderful cook and she always made sure no one left hungry!

Frank was a wonderful provider and protector truly the patriarch of our family. He taught us all how to hunt, fish, and endure through hard times. In his early years, Frank graduated from Robert E. Lee High School before moving onto his captivating career as a Game Warden where he served the State of Texas for 26 years, becoming district supervisor. Frank had many shining moments in his career, but the one that stands out above the rest is the capture and release of Bubba the Javelina. After his retirement, in 1993, Frank spent a great deal of his time out in the shop, teaching his grandchildren to hunt and fish and telling us all tales of his Game Warden days. He loved nothing more than spending time with his family. He kept active; always willing to lend a helping hand to family and friends and was a brilliant teacher.

Frank and Alice are preceded in death by their children: Jo Elizabeth Kelso, Keith Clay Kelso, Sheri Sue Kelso Adamez, her brother Douglas Boyle; her mother Alice Elizabeth Williamson Boyle Ziegler; his father H.A. (Johanna) Kelso and his mother Jewel Botts.

Frank and Alice Kelso are survived by their son Frank Allen (Maricela) Kelso, the daughter of her heart Yolanda Kelso (Jim Rogers), son-in-law Adam Adamez; grandchildren: Nina (Ryan) Kelso Saunders, Kelsey (Ron) Kelso Bjork, Frank Allen Kelso, Jr., Keith Clay (Esperanza) Kelso, Jr., Matthew (Kimberly) Kelso, Dusty (James) Adams Sullivan, Zach (Britton) Adams; great grandchildren: Sebastian Saunders, Griffin Saunders, Camila Kelso, Scarlett Kelso, Addison Kelso, James Clay Kelso, Haley, Emma, Alice, and Frazier Sullivan, Holly, Cody, Mason Adams; sister Lynn Boyle Roque, brother Patrick (Janice) Boyle, brother John Anthony (Diane) Boyle; and lots of nieces and nephews whom they loved dearly.

There are no words that can express how grateful and blessed we are to have had them both in our lives and for the lessons they have taught and instilled in each of us. We celebrate the legacy of love and the memories that will live on forever in our hearts.
