Frances Sue Kennedy Sexton died Thursday evening August 21, 2014. She was born June 10,1930 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the only child of Lucia Lawrence Kennedy and John Frank Kennedy. She graduated from Corpus Christi High School and raised a family in Corpus Christi. She was always a ready volunteer in her children's schools, PTA and activities. She was very intelligent and while raising her daughters, continued taking classes at Del Mar College and the Corpus Christi University where she earned a BBA degree, Magna Cun Laude and went on to become a CPA and earn her MBA.
She worked as comptroller for Tradewinds Ford and later entered private practice. She was a member of St. Luke's Methodist and later St. John's Church. She served as an officer and board member of a number of community organizations including the Girl Scouts, the Women's Shelter and the Corpus Christi Chapter of Financial planners.
She was kind, helpful, intelligent and much loved by her family. She had a wonderful Hospice team that took tender care of her and her daughters and we thank them for their kindness.
She is survived by daughters Susan Svec of Scurry Tx (Jerry) and Celia Sexton of Corpus Christi and two grandchildren, Andrew Kennedy Svec and Winter Lucia Tate. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the charity of your choice.
A Memorial service will be held on Wednesday August 27,2014 at 3:00 p.m. at Guardian Funeral Home 5922 Crosstown, Corpus Christi.
