Florentina De La Garza, 94, a Catholic was called to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on January 8, 2016. She was born on September 29, 1921 in Eagle Pass, Texas to Gabriel and Guadalupe Gonzales. She was a beloved wife, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Moises De La Garza, daughter and son in law Susie and Edward Hinojosa, Sr., her daughter in law Mary Helen De La Garza, her brothers Manual Gonzales and Raul Gonzales and her sister Florinda De La Garza.
She is survived by her son Marcos De La Garza, her brother Mercedes Gonzales, her grandchildren Marc (Audrey) De La Garza III, Richard David (Jill) De La Garza, Edward Hinojosa, Sylvia (Tommy) Crews, Roland (Maristela) Hinojosa, and Ronald Moises (Stacy) De La Garza. Fifteen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Her grandsons and great grandsons will serve as her pallbearers and honorary pallbearers.
Public visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, January 15, 2016 at Guardian funeral home chapel "A" with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that evening. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 16, 2016 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 2509 Nogales/MacArthur. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
