IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Fernando Nunez
Rojas Sr.
May 11, 1944 – February 1, 2026
A Life of Faith of Service
Fernando Rojas Sr., also known as Senior, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2026, at the age of 81 surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on May 11, 1944, to Pedro and Santos Rojas in Taft, TX. He was raised in Corpus Christi, Tx. He served 3 years in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged, carrying the values of discipline and bravery with him for the rest of his life. A man of many talents and an iron-clad work ethic, Fernando was a true craftsman who could build, fix, or grow just about anything. His career journey was as diverse as his skillset: he began in the fields and later perfected his craft as a carpenter and landscaper, leaving a tangible mark on the world around him. Whether he was navigating the complexities of the insurance industry, working as a boilermaker in numerous states, or meticulously working as an aircraft fabricator, he approached every task with pride and precision. There wasn't a problem he couldn't solve with his hands or his mind. Fernando was a devoted servant of Jehovah for many years; he was known most notably for his unwavering faith and his role as an Elder at the Hillcrest congregation. He took great joy in his ministry, finding fulfillment in teaching others and providing spiritual guidance, and shepherd care to his brothers and sisters in the faith. His life was a testament to his belief in the resurrection of hope and his love for the Creator.
A Legacy of Love
He is preceded in death by his parents Pedro and Santos; his brothers, Cruz and Pete; and his sister Odilia. He is survived by his sister, Mariana (Fidel Sr.) Posada and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. While his faith was his foundation, his family was his greatest earthly joy. Fernando was married to his beloved wife Guadalupe Rojas for 59 years. They were inseparable. From their early days as a young couple to their golden years as grandparents, they navigated life's transition as a seamless team. Their love was a beautiful example of commitment, patience, and enduring love. Together they build a vibrant family tree including their son, Fernando (Cristina) Rojas Jr., and three daughters, Becky Rojas, Rachael (Richard) Alaniz, Ruth (Ramiro) Alaniz.
Fernando was a man who could fill a room with laughter and is known for being both hilarious and deeply caring. Whether he was offering a helping hand or a well-timed joke, Fernando made sure those around him felt loved and seen. He also had a deep appreciation for the greats of jazz and blues, and nothing could get him moving like a Salsa or Tejano beat. His family will always remember him with a song in his heart and a foot tapping to the rhythm. He took immense pride in his role as Popo, leaving 13 grandchildren Stephanie (AC), John III (Alissa), Suzette (Jesus), Stephen (Tracy), Ricardo Jr., Roman, Ramon Jesus, Ramsey, Lariza, Isaiah, Marisol, Luke, and Ezra and 12 great-grandchildren Aliliana, Paul Andrew, Kadence, Journey, Giovanni, Royce, Brookelyn, Rylee, Rainey, Aleah, Emilia, and Jesus Alexander, who will carry forward his stories and spirit.
