In Loving Memory
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Fernando Leal, a beloved son, brother and uncle on May 19, 2026 at the age of 64. Fernando was born on March 24, 1962 in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Fernando attended Robert Wilson School. He was known for his kind heart and willingness to help anyone.
Fernando had a deep love for playing the drums. He enjoyed listening to music, singing and dancing. In his spare time he enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys play, Kung Fu and Superhero movies. He also took pleasure in collecting superhero memorabilia. His favorite color was red. Fernando loved sitting outside and enjoying nature. More than anything, he cherished the time he spent with his family and friends.
Fernando is survived by his siblings: Alonzo Leal, Jr, Santos Leal and Maryhelen Leal. Sister-in-Laws, Irma Leal and Gina Leal.
Fernando is survived by his 11 nephews and nieces: Joey Nick Ramirez, Mark Anthony Ramirez, Sally Leal, Victoria Leal, Zechariah Leal, Heaven Rose Leal, Brandy Leal, Crystal Leal, Michael Andrew Martinez, Jonathan Lee Martinez and Johvanny Mercedes Martinez Colon.
Fernando is survived by his 22 great nephews and nieces: Alonzo Leal IV, Leah Salinas, Jazel Alizia Lee Ramirez, Joziah Ramirez, Joey Ramirez, Juan David Ramirez, Ari Ramirez, Mara Ramirez, Anthony Rivera, Mathew Rivera, Timothy Rivera, Justin Campos, Lucki Bazaldua, Isabel Meza, Julie Meza, Kirra Marquez, Khloe Marquez, Xavier Marquez, Xander Marquez, Ezra Marquez, Lucas Xander Moorehead Martinez and Kai Domingo Miguel Martinez.
Fernando is survived by a great, great nephew Malcolm Galbadron
Fernando is preceded in death by his parents, Jesus Alonzo Leal, Maria Juaregui, his sister, Cruz Leal Botello, his nephew, Alonzo Leal, Jr. III and great niece Leah Annabella.
Although Fernando’s journey was different, his love, laughter and unwavering spirit touched us all. We are very grateful to have cherished every moment we’ve spent with Fernando. We will keep all the wonderful memories that each and every one of us have embraced from our dear Fernando.
The family respectfully requests that no formal service or gathering will take place. Instead, they encourage loved ones to remember and celebrate the cherished moments shared with Fernando in their own way.
