Fernando Cavazos, Jr., age 63, of Corpus Christi, TX went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, April 2, 2019.
Fernando was a fun loving but serious person who loved his family and was a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan. He served his country in the U.S. Army and worked for the Corpus Christi Army Depot for 25 years. He was a lifetime resident who graduated West Oso High, and grew up in Molina. He had a love for his animals, thrifting, family bbq's, shrimp boils and anything to do with the late Selena. He loved his children, grand babies and sisters, and he loved God. He is survived by two daughters, Gina Yvonne Soltero & husband Jeremy, and Jennifer Lee Clark & husband Chad. Grandpa Nando had six grand babies, Arianna Gabrielle Soltero, Stefani Alexis Soltero, Isaiah Luis Soltero, Alexa Monique Uranga, Cristian Jacob Uranga, and Hannah Danielle Clark. He is survived by sisters, Corina Sanchez & husband Jesse, and Irma Cavazos. "Uncle" also had 7 nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents Fernando Cavazos Sr. and Elivoria Cavazos. Pallbearers include Jeremy Soltero, Chad Clark, Cristian Uranga, Jesse Sanchez, Alex Villanueva, Hunter Villanueva, and Mark Rivera Jr. Honorary pallbearer Isaiah Luis Soltero.
Public Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, April 8, at Guardian Funeral Home Chapel B with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. that evening. Chapel Service will begin at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 9 at Guardian Funeral Home Chapel B, followed by burial with Full Military Honors in the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
